Patrick McMahon, C.P.A., M.B.A., M.P.H., is a Senior Consultant at Dobson | DaVanzo. He specializes in developing financial models and managing complex quantitative analyses to support strategic decision-making for health care providers, manufacturers, and public sector clients. Mr. McMahon has produced numerous financial models addressing long-term demand, health care expenditures, and policy-related cost projections. For a chain of inpatient facilities, he modeled the demand for services through 2050 across 150 market areas under multiple scenario variables, including patient age, insurance enrollment, and market share. For a new OB/GYN diagnostic test, he modeled the five-year impact on total expenditures associated with insurance coverage of the product, incorporating demand, uptake, market share, efficacy, and side effect costs across test options. For a state opioid-related lawsuit involving pharmaceutical manufacturers, he modeled state Medicaid opioid-related expenditures over a thirty-eight-year period based on eight years of actual data, accounting for new individuals with substance use disorder, projected population changes, sobriety rates, and mortality rates.

Mr. McMahon also actively participates in the collection, organization, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data for Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs) and other community assessments. He has supported numerous hospital clients in identifying priority community health needs, selecting initiatives to address those needs, and documenting planned activities in regulatory-compliant Implementation Strategies. As part of these efforts, he has conducted hundreds of key informant interviews and community stakeholder focus groups.

Mr. McMahon earned a Master of Business Administration in Financial Management and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia and a Project Management Professional certified by the Project Management Institute.
