Seung Ouk Kim, Ph.D. is a senior research scientist at Dobson | DaVanzo. He has more than 13 years of experience in studies using real world evidence, outcomes research, program evaluation, policy analysis, case-mix risk adjustment, and statistical/econometric modeling. Dr. Kim has subject matter expertise in solving complex problems, conducting large-scale data-driven analyses, leading health services research and epidemiology studies, and providing evidence generation strategies and solutions.
Before joining Dobson | DaVanzo, Dr. Kim held various roles as a health economist, health services researcher, and policy analyst, providing analytic, technical, and consulting services to various types of clients such as federal (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, Medicare Payment Advisory Commission), state (Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and New Mexico Department of Health), international (U.S. Agency for International Development) agencies as well as pharmaceutical (Amgen, Janssen, Genentech, Merck, Otsuka, Gilead, and Walgreens) and commercial (Kindred Healthcare, Exact Sciences, and Tivity Health) companies.
He obtained an MPH in Health Services from University of California, Los Angeles and a PhD in Health Systems/Health Economics from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Kim has published his work in Journal of Urology, Journal of Cardiac Failure, Pediatric Pulmonology, and Journal of Medical Economics.
