Alex Wallace, M.P.P., is a Manager at Dobson | DaVanzo, joining the firm in January 2022. He brings considerable experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. Mr. Wallace is currently Project Coordinator for the CMS State Data Resource Center (SDRC) contract, managing contact between CMS and state and territory Medicaid agencies and leading logistics and planning efforts for recurring outreach and education efforts for states and territories in their acquisition and use of Medicare data. Within this role, he also coordinates the deliverable schedule for the entirety of the contract and manages contract personnel, ensuring deliverables are submitted on time and to a high degree of quality. Mr. Wallace also provides analytical support and research for the firm's other contracts with CMS, such as the Medicare Intravenous Immune Globulin (IVIG) Access Demonstration Evaluation project. In other work, he has developed and administered surveys to measure various industry costs, including for home-health organizations and medical products. He also provides analysis and research on projects centered on damages due to the opioid pandemic incurred by state Medicaid programs.
Prior to joining Dobson | DaVanzo, Mr. Wallace worked as a Senior Associate at Verité Healthcare Consulting. At the firm, Mr. Wallace focused on community health and benefit work, primarily for non-profit health systems. He has expansive experience in community need identification and prioritization. He was involved with the development of numerous Community Health Needs Assessments, including data collection, analysis, stakeholder interviews, focus group facilitation, and report compilation. Additionally, he aided clients in the development of Implementation Strategies to address community health issues, including program research and identification and subsequent implementation planning.
Mr. Wallace holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and History from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. His master’s capstone project focused on an analysis of health insurance expenditures for a local government organization, researching alternative health delivery models to reduce costs. He also volunteered at a student-run organization that provided pro bono consulting services to local nonprofit organizations.
