Holing (Elaine) Cheng is a Data Associate (SAS programmer) at Dobson | DaVanzo with over 15 years of experience in SAS Programming.  She is currently working on several projects supporting ongoing data analyses for private sector and government clients.

Prior to joining Dobson | DaVanzo, Ms. Cheng was working as a Senior SAS Programmer at a utility trading company, ElectriCities of North Carolina. Inc.  supporting a billing system upgrade project from Project planning to System Testing. During the upgrading progress, Ms. Cheng used SAS Enterprise Guide and Excel SAS Add-in to resolve issues and improve many outputs in the new system, while supporting regular billing process routines at the same time.

Previously at The Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, Ms. Cheng was working on the 9th and 10th Scope of Work project for The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as an Analytic Programmer. During her time there, Ms. Cheng used Base SAS to create various tables and graphical outputs for both internal and external clients. She performed statistical analysis with ICD9, CPT and HCPCs codes based on HEDIS standard. Additionally, Ms. Cheng used the Osteoporosis data provided by BCBS-NC, combined with Medicare (Part A, B and D) and Medicaid data, to create analytical outputs for researchers in BCBS-NC. Another project during that time was creating a Microsoft Access application for nursing homes to collect Electric Health Record (EHR) data. Then she performed statistical analysis with SAS, in support of quality improvement and research activities for the project teams, and to train clinical providers, including hospitals, physician offices and nursing homes.

Ms. Cheng earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from North Carolina State University.
