Val Bakaushin is a Data Associate (SAS programmer) at Dobson | DaVanzo and has nearly 30 years of experience in applying mathematical modeling and statistical techniques to health care-related issues. While at Dobson | DaVanzo, Mr. Bakaushin has worked on a number of CMS projects such as a Part D claims analysis to develop measures to examine opioid overdose and opioid use disorder trends, and a project to analyze Medicare Part C and D plan compliance with reporting requirements. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bakaushin spent more than 19 years with Social & Scientific Systems, Inc., where he served as a programmer analyst for several Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) projects, Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC) projects as well as projects for the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC).

Val has a Master of Science degree in Mechanics and Engineering from the Institute of Aviation Engineering (Riga, Latvia)
